THERAPY

We are meant to do more than survive – we are meant to flourish

We usually don’t feel at our best when we are looking to start therapy. A lot of people think there is something wrong with them, their brain, their bodies, or anything else from an endless list of problems within us. It weighs heavy on me that so many people think that the reasons they aren’t getting by are exclusively due to their own personal failings. Whether it be a person who is anxious but also overwhelmed by their job; the person who is depressed but was expected to figure out most of life on their own; the person who can’t understand why they collapse under pressure but experienced multiple traumas throughout their life and was taught they just need to “accept that it happened and move on”; I want to help you make sense of why you're feeling the ways that you are and make space to have your feelings.

I primarily use a model of therapy called Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP). By working to slow down, we can learn so much about what has happened to you, as well as access your unlimited potential. My hope is to help you improve your relationships – with your emotions, with your body, with those in your life, and with your communities. By helping you access your potential to connect with yourself, you often times find the wisdom within yourself for how to move forward. That doesn’t mean I don’t offer tools and skills – I’m also trained in Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Adaptive Internal Resources Network therapy (AIR Network), Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and I feel that my journey is never done; I learn more so I can help you in the ways that feel right for you.
